Abstract: Constructing East Asiancommunity has become the consensus in this region. However, because of the historical legacy issues, realistic competitions, exterior interference, etc., there are lots of severe challenges in the process of constructing East Asian community, and it will be long and hard. People often pay attention to the progress of the material side during constructing community, in fact, when it is difficult to push community further, the non-material side become more and more important. Consequently, East Asian countries should endeavor to construct the notions of East Asian identity, to startup the common research of region history, to promote the institution construction of East Asian community. More importantly, China and Japan should say good bye to the zero-sum traditional thought, and cooperate to construct the common homestead which the East Asian people can be benefit from.
