PhD of Law, currently in the position of director of Institute of International Studies, director of Division of International Relations of Jilin University, chief editor of the journal Collected Papers of History Studies, chief expert of CCP Central Marxist Theory Study Project, vice-chair of CNAIS, vice director of China Institute of Modern World History. Prof Liu obtained his BA, MA and PhD from Jilin University. After gration he stayed for teaching in home university, and promoted to professor in 1996. During 1991-1992 he was funded by British Ministry of Foreign Affairs to pursue MA of IR in University of Warwick. During 1992-1993 he was invited to University of Cambridge for joint study of International Affairs. He was appointed dean of History Department in 1994 and director of Division of International Relations in 2004 and director of Center of Contemporary International Relations Studies in 2001.
