PhD of History. Prof Zhang graduated from Jilin University in 1989 and acquired PhD in 2001. He is currently in position of Deputy Director of IIS. He has published articles in various journals as World History, Front of Social Science, Theory of History, etc. He is also the author of Overseas Trade Developement in China and England in the Age of Great Discoveries, Origins of Modern Civil Society, and participated in translation of International System in World History. He teaches the courses of History Theory, Modernization of Europe and the Renaissance, etc.
