Abstract:Japanese invasion of Taiwan in 1874 had unpredictable effects on Japanese Diplomacy. On the one hand, "Departure from Asia for Europe" policy began to move closer to the mainstream of Japanese diplomacy concept, on the other hand, Japan got more profit, such as cutting off the relationship between Ryukyu Islands and China, forcing North Korea to open to the outside world. The traditional "Hua Yi" Order (the Sino-barbarian order), core of China, began to collapse. The success of the military adventure made the power politic integrate into the theory and practice of Japanese diplomacy. Japan walked along this road farther and farther.
