English School and the Study of the Medieval Europ

Abstract: English School combining history with the theory of international relations, develops a set of distinctive features which are quite different from those of the American scholars. With three basic categories being the starting points, members of the English School have paid much attention to the study of the medieval Europe model,as is very important for us to further understand the neomedievalism. Different emphatic points result in different ideas and models of the medieval Europe. In general there still exist many differences among them, and they hold no identical views on the model. In fact, It is a pre-modern system of balance of power coexisting with a regional world society that characterizes the medieval Europe model, from which international or interstate society could not be found out. With logic at advantage position, research methods of English School have many limitations, but we can still learn much from them.
