Abstract: The English School scholars such as Barry Buzan advocated to apply international society theory to the subglobal/regional level, and revised English School theory. According to Buzan’s viewpoint, in Northeast Asia, the regional international society didn’t come into being until the end of cold war, when the states recognized mutually sovereign equality. Compared with EU, interstate, interhuman and transnational societies are not mature in Northeast Asia, and the core principles of Westphalian system such as sovereign and territoriality still dominate the region. Analyzing Northeast Asia regional international society not only take the approach to the region walking out the reality puzzle, but also provide empirical evidence of international society theory at the regional level.
